Transit fee for pumping 1000 cub.m. of gas via Trans Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP), which is 1850 km long, will be $70.00, Saltuk Duzyol, General Director of TANAP A.S. pipeline company, said in his interview to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
He said the issue of payment of $5.95 tax for pumping each 1000 cub.m. of gas via the pipeline will be also discussed with the project shareholders.
Speaking about importance of TANAP project for the Turkish economy, Duzyol said “the country will receive not only alternative source of gas supplies, but also an important source of income from its operation.”
First of all, state pipeline company BOTAS is the shareholder of TANAP project, which means BOTAS will have 30% profit from the project. Secondly, the Turkish companies have already been awarded contracts for the services to the amount of $3.6 billion.
He said from the total amount of the contracts for manufacture of pipes for TANAP gas pipeline worth $1.3 billion the Turkish manufacturers will have contracts to the amount of $1 billion.
TANAP General Director also said that gas supplies to Turkey via TANAP are expected to begin in July 2018. On the first year 2 billion cub.m. of gas will be exported to Turkey. During three years the volume of deliveries will be increased up to the planned 6 bcm.
* TANAP shareholders include SOCAR (operator with 58%), BOTAS (30%) and BP (12%). The Azerbaijani Shah Deniz-2 field is the resource for the pipeline.
