Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of the project within the
agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality requirements, and contractual commitments.
The Project Manager serves as the primary interface between the project organization
and the client at management level.
Key Responsibilities
Project Governance & Control
• Establish and maintain the Project Initiation Document (PID).
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and quality.
• Ensure project execution follows the agreed project management methodology.
• Monitor project performance and report progress to stakeholders and steering
committees.
Stakeholder & Contract Management
• Act as the primary commercial and contractual contact for the client.
• Manage scope changes, project variations, and contractual matters.
• Lead progress meetings, steering committee reviews, and management updates.
• Facilitate timely decision-making and resolve escalated issues.
Planning & Resource Management
• Ensure adequate project staffing and resource allocation.
• Monitor milestones, deliverables, and critical project deadlines.
• Coordinate closely with the Team Lead to align priorities and resource
requirements.
• Remove organizational barriers impacting project execution.
Financial Management
• Manage project budget, invoicing milestones, and financial performance.
• Monitor cost development and initiate corrective actions where required.
• Ensure project profitability and contractual compliance.
Risk, Quality & Compliance
• Maintain risk, assumption, issue, and dependency registers.
• Ensure document control, version management, and formal approvals are in
place.
• Oversee project close-out activities, lessons learned, and project evaluation
documentation.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet agreed quality standards and acceptance
criteria.
Authority
• Allocate project resources and budgets.
• Approve project plans and change requests.
• Escalate issues to client management or steering committees.
• Represent the project in all formal communications and decisions.
Success Criteria
• Delivery of the project within scope, schedule, and budget.
• High client satisfaction and successful acceptance of deliverables.
• Effective management of risks, changes, and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong collaboration between client and project teams.
