Key Responsibilities
Inspect welding activities during fabrication, construction, and installation works.
Verify that welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welder qualifications are approved and valid.
Conduct visual inspection of welds and monitor fit-up, alignment, and joint preparation.
Ensure materials received at site comply with approved specifications, standards, and material traceability requirements.
Review material certificates, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
Coordinate and witness non-destructive testing (NDT) activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT.
Identify non-conformities and prepare inspection reports and punch lists.
Monitor storage, handling, and preservation of materials and welding consumables.
Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC requirements during inspection activities.
Maintain inspection records and prepare daily/weekly quality reports.
Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, clients, and third-party inspectors regarding inspection activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding, or related engineering field.
Minimum experience in welding/material inspection within oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects.
Knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, and ISO.
Familiarity with NDT methods and welding inspection practices.
Ability to read engineering drawings, isometrics, and welding documentation.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Relevant certifications such as CSWIP, AWS-CWI, or equivalent are preferred.
