Education: Higher education, Degree in Mechanical, Naval, Structural Engineering
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in Senior Operations Engineer/Lead position within oil and gas Offshore Engineering and Construction industry;
- 10 years of international experience in offshore operations on medium-to large-scale and complex offshore projects
- Experience in Subsea Installation, in particular – jacket installation, umbilical cable lay, heavy lifts on medium-to large-scale and complex offshore projects.
Skills:
- Capability to define/verify the right equipment and the proper vessel assignment identified during the engineering design phase in order to ensure that the installation phase will be executed correctly;
- Specific knowledge of Standards, Codes and Regulations applicable to offshore structures;
- Capability to lead and interpret the naval and structural analysis related to the installation of pipelines and offshore platforms. Knowledge of general processes, tools and techniques of risk management, including the relevant International Standards;
- Knowledge of material management methodology and software tools;
- Knowledge of methodologies related to the main procurement cycle steps, e.g. requirements, negotiation and contract, service delivery and performance monitoring, renewal, retendering or exit.

Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering reviews, address operation, advise (directly and indirectly) best practices both in the tender and in the projects to the Project Operation Manager (or delegate) to assist in the achievement of project/tender objectives, according to the plan/procedures developed by the engineering project team;
- Execute the activities within area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements;
- Review project documentation reporting errors/omissions, suggest improvements considering advice from vessel operations management;
- Assist in liaising with Client Representatives/subcontractors;
- Assist in monitoring progress of work/site conditions, promptly advise if changes to project schedule/execution sequence may occur;
- When onboard support Vessel Management Team in planning/execution of work/project contractual & technical requirements;
- When assigned to onshore work/site support site Supervisors in planning/execution of work/project contractual/technical requirements;
- Participate in resolution of any technical problems;
- Supervise execution of diving, pre-commissioning, post trenching, hook-up;
- Provide operational input/support to onshore project teams;
- Liaise with Installation Engineers during preparatory/mobilisation/installation phase;
- Review installation procedures/loadout/sea fastening plans for material/structures offshore transportation to ensure safe/timely installation;
- Ensure completeness of construction materials/consumables lists liaising with Project Coordinator for timely procurement/delivery;
- Coordinate with Mobile Equipment, Asset, PIPTEC, ROV, Trenching, pre-commissioning, Hook-up to ensure that all necessary personnel/equipment are timely available;
- Witness/inspect pre-rigging/loadouts/sea fastening activities;
- Identify any deviations from procedures, manage as requested;
- Coordinate with Fabrication Dept for loadout of fabricated structures/installation aids;
- Provide input/feedback for engineering close out report to improve departmental standards/working methods/guidelines;
- Lead project planning efficiency optimisation (installation aids re-use, tensioner pad change-outs, equipment mob/demob, ROV tooling consistency);
- Be involved in project HAZIDs/HIRAs and Track of tasks;
- Verify that relevant schedules reconcile with present vessel productivity and onshore work/site progress;
- Assist with project management specific third-party contractors confirming all technical/operational contractual aspects are observed;
- Provide technical assistance to all offshore/onshore work/site personnel to permit work is implemented in accordance with approved procedure and Company’s minimum standard;
- Provide all necessary technical briefings to offshore/onshore work/site personnel ensuring that overall project working/safety philosophy is fully understood by all personnel;
- Assist vessels mobilisation/demobilisation to ensure that all equipment is handled in correct manner and everyone involved is aware of all safety/technical aspects of operation;
- Note any contractual variations during project ensuring all necessary documentation is in place to support commercial claims disputed upon project completion and manage as requested;
- Verify that procedures are correct and most efficient/cost effective solutions are followed;
- Take part in most critical phases on board installation vessel/preparation yard;
- Confront with the vessel for all most critical subject to assure a correct transfer from engineering to installation;
- Distinguish rapidly missing points/optimisation of equipment used on board/in yards;
- Prepare/record/participate in completion of feedback reporting (Lessons learnt, Offshore debriefs, end of project reporting);
- Promote/organise meetings for risk evaluation/revision of procedures with vessel management, ensuring that all work is carried safely and in accordance with HSE policies/procedures;
- Actively participate in Job Safety analysis/Risk Assessments and ensure all findings/recommendations are implemented;
- Review Daily progress reports;
- Provide technical support to commercial department;
- Coordinate/consolidate all inputs from multiple disciplines (Operations, Asset, Engineering) to support development of commercial proposal;
- Be involved in preparing installation vessels’ standard methods;
- Assist, guide and train junior engineers.
