Job Purpose |
Job Holder supervises non-routine Laboratory activities supporting HSE, Quality, LIMS sections in the Laboratory and contributes Routine section activities where required. These services will be in compliance with, Company regulations, Azerbaijani laws where applicable, and to the latest version of ISO/IEC 17025 for the accredited test parameters. Job Holder ensures efficient and reliable non-routine Laboratory operations and steers and monitors all operational QA/QC, LIMS, HSE Laboratory activities acts as the first level approval.
This is a critical technical/quality position ensuring the continuous functioning and improvement of the Laboratory quality management system, safe Laboratory operations, building fitness, and local/international standards compliance for the overall Laboratory activites.

Job Responsibilities: |

|
The Job Holder supervises Non-Routine Laboratory Operations (15+FTE) as holding the title of Laboratory Supervisor Role. The Laboratory Supervisor (Non-Routine) has the following accountabilities: • Acts as the first level focal point for all Non-Routine section activities. • Leads Non-Routine Laboratory Specialists ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of their duties. • Supports Laboratory Management for contract and procurement activities. • Supports Laboratory Management on preparing Laboratory monthly report identify the high and low from the technical and quality perspective in accordance with Laboratory Non-Routine activities. • Supervises and guides the HSE, Quality, LIMS Related document implementation, continuous improvement of the system and related processes. • State conformity and interpretations provision on Test Reports/CQ as per procedural requirements • Monitors all Laboratory licenses, international/local audit requirements to ensure all are up to date. • Consistently informs his/her line manager on critical technical/quality issues and suggest solutions for the improvement of the system. • Manages all staff requirement under his/her accountability – training plans, rotations, leaves, appraisals. • Monitors and steers all HSE aspect of the Laboratory related activities – waste management, building fitness, safe storage, and sample/chemical management, leads risk assessments and job hazard analysis through Laboratory HSE Specialist • Ensures safe Laboratory operations and sample management while implementing required procedures as per general Laboratory safety guidelines complying Azerbaijani local regulations together with Routine Laboratory leads. • Identify, review and reports of deviations from the management system or from the procedures for performing Laboratory activities. • Promote actions to prevent or minimize such deviations. • Leads all LIMS related activities through LIMS specialist from implementation to sustainable operations, ensure all users are trained. • Leads Laboratory documentation to comply with Azerbaijani Legislation and international quality system requirements in alignment with QA/QC Specialist. • Ensures Laboratory Impartiality and Operation risk opportunities in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025: ensures that the Management System achieves its intended results, enhances opportunities to achieve the purpose and objectives of the Laboratory, prevents or reduces undesired impacts and potential failures in the Laboratory activities, achieves improvements. • Verifies and reports all analyses conducted daily for different types of fluids and solids in non-routine section. • Generates and provides first level approval for sample & analysis plan, consisting of measurement of samples delivered, to provide quality and timely results, and the sample quality reports for Non-Routine section. • Ensure interface with Routine Laboratory section to implement related HSE, Quality, LIMS activities. • Remains committed to annual company objectives and individual goals and targets. • Ensure the timely and correct use of personal protective equipment. • Intervenes where necessary without hesitation and reminds HSE rules and regulations for all Laboratory related aspects. • Conducts safety meetings for personnel.

Qualification Requirements: |
|||||
|
• University Degree (BSc.) with a Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA/QC roles and minimum 2 years’ quality experience in oil and gas projects, and/or petrochemical environment (MSc. Degree is a plus)

|
Experience Requirements: The job holder must have proven:
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to make presentations and write effective reports, in particular for Management Reviews • Competency in English – writing, reading, speaking. |

Working Conditions: |

Based in Baku on residential 5/2 basis starting from 8am to 5pm with max 1 hour lunch break – Local hire.
