SOCAR Energy Switzerland, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Switzerland, has launched the first fast charging station for electric trucks in this country, the SOCAR Energy Switzerland wrote on LinkedIn, Report informs.
“SOCAR Energy Switzerland opened the first fast charging station for electric trucks on May 15 at the Kölliken-Nord rest area along the A1 highway. The new infrastructure is designed for charging electrified heavy-duty transport vehicles. The station, with power up to 400 kW, allows for significantly reduced charging times even for electric heavy-duty trucks. This is particularly important for logistics companies,” reads the post.
At the same time, Swiss media said that SOCAR plans to launch approximately 100 charging points for passenger and freight electric vehicles in Switzerland by the end of 2026.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan operates in the retail sale of petroleum products in Switzerland through a network of filling stations under the SOCAR brand. Currently, this network consists of approximately 200 filling stations.
Besides, the head office of SOCAR Trading is located in Zurich.
