From January to October 2024, Russia boosted its pipeline gas exports to Europe by more than 15%, reaching 26.52 bcm, TASS reported based on daily data from Gazprom on transit through Ukraine and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG).
In the same period of 2023, Russian pipeline gas supplies to Europe were around 23 bcm. For the entire year of 2023, Russian gas exports in this direction totaled approximately 28.15 bcm. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), supplies of Russian pipeline gas to Europe (including Türkiye) fell to their lowest level since the early 1980s in 2023, totaling 45 bcm.
The volume of Russian gas transit through Ukraine to Europe from January to October 2024 was 12.85 bcm, a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
Supplies via the Turkish Stream pipeline to Southern and Southeastern Europe grew by nearly 25% in the same period, reaching 13.66 bcm.
