Russia and Azerbaijan will jointly build oil tankers, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on August 19 following talks with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
“The Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation, together with the Baku Shipyard, will begin producing modern river-sea class tankers for the transportation of oil products,” said the Russian leader.
The use of these vessels on the Azov-Black Sea and Caspian routes will significantly increase the supply of energy resources to global markets, the president emphasized.
He also noted that Russian companies are successfully operating in the Azerbaijani market, including “Lukoil” and “KamAZ,” which has established an assembly plant. Additionally, “Transmashholding” signed another contract for the production of a large batch of Russian railcars for the Baku Metro.
