Gazprom and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) are discussing partnership in the “North-South” project and have agreed to expand their multifaceted strategic partnership, said Alexey Miller, head of the Russian holding company.
A delegation from Gazprom, led by Chairman of the Board Alexey Miller, is participating in the events of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Azerbaijan.
“The mutually beneficial partnership between Gazprom and SOCAR is dynamically developing. Specifically, this includes the “North-South” project, the signing of a comprehensive scientific and technical cooperation program in September 2024, and an agreement to expand multifaceted strategic partnership,” noted Miller, as quoted in a Gazprom press release.
Putin arrived in Baku for a two-day state visit on August 18. The leaders of the two countries held talks and signed several joint documents. It is worth noting that the Azerbaijani side has not yet confirmed the Russian gas monopolist’s statement.
