QUALIFICATION and JOB DESCRIPTION
Qualification
- BSc and MSc degrees in related fields.
- More than 5 cumulative years of experience in project engineering management role(s) in primarily oil and gas, oil/gas treatment, refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industries.
- Managing engineering project support aspects of mid to high scale international projects
- Experience in all stages of project life cycles starting from conceptual design, feasibility, FEED and into EPC and commissioning/start-up
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to act as change agents and instill confidence to embrace change as well
- Results-driven and detail-oriented
- Coaching/mentoring skills
- Leadership and business management skills
Job Description
- Monitoring progress, overseeing finance, and ensuring project quality
- Making strategic decisions and providing leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisions
- Meeting with clients, stakeholders and project managers to report on project progress
- Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships
- Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion
- Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage
- Ensuring permits and legal papers are secured ahead of the project
- Developing a timeline for the completion of a certain milestone for a given project
- Creating budget for the completion of a particular task, and monitoring the amount of money spent in order to ensure the project does not exceed this amount
- Recommending changes to a project that is ongoing if it appears not proceeding on schedule or is producing unsatisfactory results
- Contracting with outside agencies for support on a needed basis
- Managing available resources, including teams working on the project
