The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is actively working to transform itself from an oil and gas-only company into a universal energy corporation that includes renewable energy, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf said at the Baku Investment Day (Baku ID) festival held Thursday, Report informs.
“The company continues to produce oil and gas to ensure the energy security of Azerbaijan and its partners, with sustainable development in mind,” he said.
Najaf noted that in order to achieve sustainability, SOCAR implements decarbonization and CO2 reduction in all its operations, starting from investment and procurement decisions.
