Gas production in Azerbaijan in January 2023 amounted to 4.2 bcm, which is 4% higher than in January last year, the Ministry of Energy reports.
In particular, 1.1 bcm of associated gas was produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block in January, 2.3 bcm of natural gas from the Shah Deniz field, and 0.8 bcm of gas by SOCAR.
Since the start of development, 204.6 bcm of associated gas have been produced from the ACG block, and about 185 bcm of natural gas from the Shah Deniz field.
At the same time, for the entire period, about 130 bcm of gas produced in Shah Deniz were exported to world markets.
Azerbaijani gas is currently exported to 6 countries: Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania.
Several other European countries expressed their desire to purchase Azerbaijani gas: Albania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, Serbia and some Balkan countries.
