In January-May 2022, SOCAR’s “SOCAR Methanol LLC” produced 230.1 thousand tons of methanol, which is 4.9 times higher than the same period last year, the monthly report of the State Committee on Statistics of Azerbaijan.
Why has the productivity of methanol increased sharply in Azerbaijan? The fact is that from the second half of January 2021, “SOCAR Methanol LLC” stopped for a planned overhaul.
The plant resumed its activities only in May 2021. As of June 1, the company’s warehouses have 47.2 thousand tons of finished products. In turn, according to the State Customs Committee, “SOCAR Methanol” exported 191,687.78 tons of methanol in the amount of $60 million 46.73 thousand during the reporting period. The share of methanol in total exports from Azerbaijan for the reporting period will be 0.39%, in the volume of exports of non-oil products – 5.05%.
