In January-May this year, Azerbaijan exported 9,458,059.77 thousand cubic meters of natural gas worth $ 5,994,793.6 thousand, APA-Economics reports citing the State Customs Committee.
The volume of exported gas increased by 3.1% and by 4.5 times in value compared to the corresponding figure in 2021.
Last year, Azerbaijan exported 20,046,650.21 thousand cubic meters of natural gas worth $ 5,534,398.34 thousand. Compared to 2020, the volume of exported gas increased by 61.3% and its cost by 2.5 times.
Notably, increase was due to the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which was commissioned on December 31, 2020, and transports Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Besides, rising gas prices on world markets have had a positive impact on export earnings.
