The export of Azerbaijani gas to Italy in 2022 will amount to 7.4 bcm, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.
“We had a talk with Italian Deputy Minister of Ecological Transition Vannia Gava about the contribution of the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline to gas consumption in this country.
This year, 7.4 bcm of gas will be exported to Italy,” Shahbazov wrote in his microblog on twitter.
In turn, the International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that gas exports from Azerbaijan to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP) in 2022 will reach the design 10 bcm.
Earlier, the pipeline company TAP AG reported that the volume of Azerbaijani gas exported to Europe in 2021 amounted to 8.1 bcm. Of this volume, over 6.8 billion cubic meters were delivered to Italy, about 1.2 bcm – to Greece and Bulgaria.
