The volume of Azerbaijani gas exports to the European market will increase, stated the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku during a joint press conference with the President of the European Council Charles Michel on July 19.
According to the head of the Azerbaijani state, the completion of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project has become a historically important event.
Azerbaijani gas supplies via the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP) to consumers in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria began on December 31, 2020. The TAP gas pipeline is part of the SGC, which is estimated at $ 38 billion.
The annual volume of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe is envisaged at the level of 10 billion cubic meters. In addition, 6 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas a year is intended for supplies to the western regions of Turkey.
