In January-March 2021, Kazakhstan produced 17.879 million tons of crude oil and 3.23 million tons of gas condensate, which is 11.7% and 2% less than in January-March 2020, said the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev at a government meeting.
According to him, oil exports from Kazakhstan in the first quarter amounted to 16.6 million tons.
Oil production at the Tengiz field in January-March amounted to 6.7 million tons, at the Caspian Kashagan field – 3.7 million tons, at the Karachaganak field – 3.1 million tons.
Kazakhstan, within the framework of the OPEC + pact, will increase oil production in May, June and July.
Obligations of Kazakhstan under OPEC + in April 2021 will amount to 1.457 million barrels per day, or minus 15% of the base level in November 2018.
