The construction of the onshore section of Nord Stream 2 has been completed, and this section of the gas pipeline is ready for operation. But the timing of their completion at sea depends on a number of conditions
This was stated by Elena Burmistrova, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, and General Director of Gazprom Export.
Note that the Russian pipe-laying barge “Fortuna” on December 11 began to complete the construction of the offshore section of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, 2.6 km long, in the exclusive economic zone of Germany, in waters at a depth of up to 30 meters.
The work carried out here was not subject to US sanctions, as they concerned the laying of pipes for Russian gas pipelines to Europe at a depth of over 30.5 meters (100 feet).
The largest of the unfinished sections of Nord Stream 2 in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark, about 120 km long, is under American restrictions. In total, by the start of Fortuna’s work, more than 2,300 kilometers of 2460 kilometers of gas pipelines had been laid.
