“There is another problem – the liberalization of the economy. We have to go with this. The recent discussions in this area give grounds to say that serious steps must already be taken,” President Ilham Aliyev said yesterday.
According to the head of state, broad reforms should also be carried out in the field of privatization.
“We should be interested in both private and foreign companies. Because in some cases companies apply, but their appeals are not considered, and in some cases the consideration of these appeals is delayed. Some projects are being implemented and some are not. We ourselves must be interested. We must provide foreign and local investors with a business plan – this is the sphere, here is the enterprise, go and privatize. If a strategic investor invests heavily, then the enterprise can be privatized at a symbolic price,” said President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state stressed that cooperation between the state and the private sector should be based on more specific projects.
