The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, together with Azerenerji JSC, will prepare proposals for the efficient use of water for cooling power plants by 2021.
These measures are envisaged in the Action Plan to ensure the efficient use of water resources until 2023, approved by President Ilham Aliyev on July 27.
According to the plan, the Ministry of Energy and Azerenerji in August-December 2020 should prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals on the modernization of cooling systems at thermal power plants and to ensure economical consumption of water for cooling.
In addition, the Ministry of Energy and Azerenerji must prepare and submit to the government proposals on independent regulation of the frequency of electricity by December 2020.
Currently, there are 14 thermal power plants in Azerbaijan, including 2 in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
