Tengiz Shift Period Increased Due to COVID-19

The duration of the shift at the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan for visiting workers will be increased as part of measures against the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) press service said on Friday.

“The duration of the shift for visiting workers in Tengiz will be extended. Those who worked for 14 days will work 28. Accordingly, those whose shift lasted 28 days will work 56,” the information says.

It is noted that the main priority in organizing the re-transfer process is the health and safety of workers.

According to the TCO press service, an increase in the number of employees during a re-interchange is not provided.

“A total of 13.7 thousand people remaining in the Tengiz field will be replaced by the same number of workers,” the report said.

Among TCO employees, according to the press service, currently 73 cases of coronavirus are registered, and among the personnel of contracting organizations – 1,194.
