In 2018, Central Asia-China gas pipeline will supply more than 51.371 bcm of gas, Kazakhstan Today reports citing representatives of the company “Asian Gas Pipeline”.
According to the data announced at the presentation in Almaty, the volumes of supplies to China are as follows: the share of Turkmenistan will be 38.7 bcm, Uzbekistan – 7.6 bcm and Kazakhstan – 5.071 bcm.
Since its commissioning in December 2009, the gas main Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan – China, consisting of three parallel lines A, B, C, have supplied to Chinese consumers over 200 bcm of gas.
In 2017, about 39 bcm of gas were transited via Kazakhstan to China through all three lines. The resource base of this 7,000-km long gas transportation system, being one of the longest in the world, is the richest gas reservoirs of Turkmenistan on the right bank of Amu Darya river and Malay field. Now the project of line D, which will bring the capacity of the gas route to 65 bcm per year, is being worked out. “Asian Gas Pipeline LLP” – a joint stock company, established in 2008 by JSC “KazTransGas” (Kazakhstan) and “Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited” (China), manages the construction and operation of the main gas pipeline Kazakhstan-China and provides transportation services of transit gas going from Central Asia to China.
