SOCAR will receive AZN 100 million from the state budget for gasification of regions in 2018, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at an expanded Cabinet meeting.
“Of course, SOCAR itself earns money, but the state supports it in important social projects. In 2018, the company will allocate 100 million manats from the state budget for this purpose, As a result, up to the end of this year the gasification of the country should reach 95%,” Aliyev said.
The President noted that by the end of 2017 the gasification level was 93%. As it was informed earlier, SOCAR’s Azerigas PA gasified 56 settlements in 2017.
It should be noted that in the year of 2017, 1,886 km of new gas pipelines were laid for the expansion of the gas transportation network and for gasification of settlements, and 221 km of gas pipelines were repaired.
Let’s remind that in December of last year, the Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov stated on AzTV that in 2018 the state budget will allocate funds for the needs of SOCAR. According to him, these funds will finance the modernization of the refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, as well as the drilling of new oil and gas wells to stabilize production levels.
