Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil Company is working to increase the transportation of oil by rail through Azerbaijan for further loading of the Batumi oil terminal.
The Batumi oil terminal is 100 percent owned by KazTransOil.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, to increase the transportation in this direction, work is conducted with all the participants of the transport corridor, as well as with potential shippers.
In 2016, the volume of oil and oil products shipped through the Batumi oil terminal amounted to about 3.4 million tons, including 2 million tons of oil and 1.4 million tons of oil products. Transshipment of oil and petroleum products of Kazakh origin through the Batumi oil terminal was not carried out in 2016.
