Gazprom has received through diplomatic channels permission to conduct research on two branches of Turkish Stream in Turkey’s territorial waters, the Russian company reported.
“It should be noted the constructive, efficient cooperation with Turkish partners of the project. Turkish Stream is in excellent pace. An important new resolution for its implementation has been obtained,” Chairman of the Board of JSC Gazprom Alexey Miller has been reported as saying.
JSC Gazprom and the Turkish Botas in December 2014 signed a memorandum of understanding on construction of the gas pipeline Turkish Stream. The pipeline will pass 660 km in the old corridor South Stream and 250 km in the new corridor in the direction of the European part of Turkey. Gas supplies in the amount of 15.75 bcm by the first branch will be entirely used for the Turkish market.
