In January-August 2016, the gross production of natural and petroleum associated gas by Kazakhstan enterprises fell by 1.9% to 30.07 bcm, including 13.77 bcm of natural gas, 4.3% less than in January-August 2015, and 16.13 bcm of petroleum associated gas, 0.2% more, according to the analytical service Energyprom.kz.
During the reported period marketable gas was produced in the amount of 8.18 bcm, which is 2% more yoy. The remaining volume of produced natural gas is used to maintain reservoir pressure, to meet the needs of subsoil users and for other purposes.
With regard to production in August alone, the gross production of natural gas amounted to 3.23 bcm or 12.2% less, compared with January-August 2015, and the production of marketable gas was 0.94 bcm, or 10% less respectively.
