This year oil extraction on the bloc of fields ACG is ahead of the forecast, BP-Azerbaijan President Gordon Birrell told journalists.
He said that the indexes of three quarters this year are rather high. But he did not disclose any details.
“We expect that during this year oil production on the bloc will not be below last year’s. The current production indexes are ahead of the forecast,” Birrell said.
During six months this year 116 million barrels of oil was extracted on ACG, 2.8 million barrels below last year. However, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Senior Vice President Khoshbakht Yusifzada said at a conference in Baku last week during 10 months, 2015 26 million tons of oil was extracted on the ACG contract area. This gives the reasons to suppose that this year 31 million tons of oil will be extracted from the ACG. SOCAR said that last year this index totaled 31.37 million tons against 32.2 million tons in 2013.
