Russia and Azerbaijan already make real steps for future bilateral gas alliance, reported Azerbaijani portal www.haqqin.az quoted its Moscow’s correspondent.
The article reads that the Russian-Azerbaijani working group is currently under formation and its goal will be strengthening of cooperation in the energy field.
At the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg on June 19, 2015 Aleksei Miller, chairman of Board of Gasprom, met with Rovnag Abdullayev, President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). Later Miller said that Azerbaijan has requested to resume the Russian gas supplies, because of the country’s growing need in gas. Miller said that the deliveries could begin at the end of this year with the annual volume of 1-2 billion cub.m. and keep on growing.
One can draw conclusion from the article that in the future Azerbaijan and Russia are going to coordinate their actions at various markets, including the European gas market.
