Since beginning of development of the Shah Deniz Phase 1 in November 2006 till June 1, 2015 total volume of gas extraction reached 62 billion cub.m., Khoshbakht Yusifzada, SOCAR Senior Vice President, made this statement at the Caspian Oil & Gas 2015 yesterday.
“During this period 16 million tons of condensate has been extracted from the Shah Deniz field,” Yusifzada said.
He said since beginning of the Shah Deniz field development 4.6 billion cub.m. of was exported to Georgia and 34 billion cub.m. to Turkey.
One can conclude from the words of SOCAR Vice President that 23.4 billion cub.m. of gas from the Phase 1 was purchased by Azerbaijan. This means that 37.7% of extracted gas has been used in Azerbaijan and only 62.3% was exported.
The Shah Deniz project contract was signed on June 4, 1996. The project partners are BP (operator with 28.8%), TPAO (19%), SOCAR (16.7%), Petronas (15.5%), LUKoil (10%) and NICO (10%).
