The Iranian authorities have decided to increase petrol prices at the local market by 40%.
President of Iranian Oil Products Distribution Sajadi said that petrol stations will sell regular fuel at $0.36 per 1 liter instead of $0.26 per 1 liter.
Rise in prices could bring about $1.8 billion to the budget of the financial years, which ends in March 2016.
The highest quality petrol will cost $0.43 per 1 liter, diesel fuel -$0.11 per 1 liter and aviation fuel – $0.21 per 1 liter.
Iran plans to increase oil products export by 2017 and become the biggest supplier of products of petrochemistry in the world.
