In January 2015 SOCAR exported from the Supsa port 254,107 tons of Azerbaijani oil transported via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.
SOCAR press office reported that in January 2014 SOCAR exported from the Supsa port 322,966 tons of oil. Therefore, in January 2015 export from the Supsa port decreased by 21.4%.
In 2014 SOCAR shipped from the Supsa port 2,957,039 tons of oil.
The pipeline with the carrying capacity of 7.5 million tons of oil was built within the framework of the contract for development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field in 1999. Oil extracted from the Chirag field is exported via this pipeline.
