Oil production in Russia has hit a record of the entire post-Soviet history of the country. In 2014 Russia extracted 10,578,000 barrels of oil a year (526,753,000 tons during a year). But Russia could reduce its production, because of reduction of oil prices. Right now the Russian authorities do not think it necessary, but the market participants say this scenario is possible.
In 2014 oil production in Russia increased by 0.7% against the same period in 2013, reported Intrerfax quoting the Russian Department of Fuel-Energy Complex.
This volume of extracted oil is a post-Soviet record. Russia has never extracted so much oil a day since collapse of the Soviet Union, reported Bloomberg. In 1987 USSR extracted the record volume of oil – in average 11.4 million barrels of oil a day, Bloomberg claims.
In December 2014 the country extracted 45,115,000 tons of oil. Averahe daily production was 10,667,000 barrels of oil a day.
The biggest volume of oil prodyction fell to Rosneft – during 2014 it extracted 190,898,000 tons of oil, LUKoil – 86,571,000 tons, Surgutneftegas – 61,425,000 tons, Gasprom Neft – 33,624,000 tons, Tatneft -26,529,000 tons, Slavneft – 16,186,000 tons, Bashneft – 17,799,000 tons and RussNeft – 8,534,000 tons.
