Georgian Patriarchy and SOCAR have signed a new memorandum of cooperation, according to which SOCAR will supply churches and monasteries of the country with free gas during one more year.
The statement released by the Georgian Patriarchy on Tuesday reads that Patriarch of Georgia Iliya the Second and Mahir Mammadov, head of the Georgian representation of SOCAR, have attended the ceremony of the memorandum signing.
“I would like to thank you for the assistance you provide not only to the Georgian church, but also to Catholic church, Muslim and other religious organizations. SOCAR provides us a possibility to supply the religious organizations with natural gas. I hope this assistance will be continued in the future,” Georgian Patriarch said.
Since December 2013 SOCAR has been supplying free gas to the Georgian religious organizations.
