Robert Dudley, BP President, made this statement during the International Oil Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi (ADIPEC) on November 10, 2014. He did not specify if he means share of Rosneft company or the joint projects.
After closure of the deal on absorption of TNK-BP (now RH Holding) BP has 19.75% share in Rosneft.
Dudley has initiated strengthening of cooperation with Russia as a counterbalance to the cooperation between BP and US. Trust in BP has been restored after appointment of Dudley in 2012 and has reduced BP’s problems after the accident in the Gulf of Mexico.
In his speech in Abu Dhabi Dudley has expressed his opinion to decline of world oil prices.
BP will continue implementing its projects with the price of $80.00 per barrel. Reduction of oil prices is not that bad for the world economy, because it will create discipline. The industry will regulate the method of work and will watch the costs, Dudley added. He added that it will be hard to predict how the oil prices will change.
OPEC General Secretary Al-Badri said last week that the prices will return to their previous level in the second half of 2015 and that reduction of prices has a speculative character.
