From January to September 2014 24.2 million tons of oil was extracted from the ACG against 24.5 million tons during the same period last year.
During this period average daily oil production totaled 655,700 barrels of oil a day. From January to September 2013 in average 663,200 barrels of oil a day was extracted on the ACG, this means that during 9 months the production decline constituted 1.13%.
From January to September 2014 in average 63,600 barrels of oil a day was extracted from the Chirag platform, 169,600 barrels a day from the Central Azeri platform, 159,600 barrels a day from the Western Azeri platform, 77,300 barrels a day from the Eastern Azeri platform, 147,200 barrels a day from the deepwater Guneshli platform and 38,400 barrels a day from the Western Chirag platform.
32.2 million tons of oil was extracted from ACG bloc in 2013 and 32.9 million tons in 2012.
The contract for development of Azeri, Chirag and deep-water section of Guneshli was signed on September 20, 1994 and entered into force on December 12, 2014. The project partners include BP (35.78% operator), US Chevron (11.27%), ExxonMobil (8%), Indian ONGC (2.72%), Azeri SOCAR (11.65%), Japanese Inpex Corp. (10.96%) and ITOCHU Oil (4.3%), Norwegian Statoil (8.56%) and Turkish TPAO (6.75%).
Oil production on the Chirag field started in November 1997, on the central part of Azeri field – on February 13, 2005, on the western part of Azeri – on December 30, 2005, on the eastern part of Azeri – on October 21, 2006, on the deep-water section of Guneshli field – early April 2008 and on the western part of Chirag field – on January 29, 2014.
