Iran has started construction of the oil product pipeline Bender-Abbas-Rafsanjan, www.Iran.ru quoted Ali Asgar Sajedi, General Director of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOEC), as saying.
He said the contractor for the project implementation has been already found and the project must be implemented within 30 months. The pipeline will be 468 km long. The branches to the cities located on the way of the pipeline will be built. The branches’ total length will be 23 km. Investments into this project will total 22 million Euro and 3.1 trillion rial (about $95 million). Additional $100 million is planned to be allocated for the pipes’ purchase.
The pipeline will be used for transportation of the products of Setareye Halije Fars oil refinery, which is currently under construction. According to Iran.ru, its carrying capacity will be 300,000 barrels a day.
The first phase of the oil refinery will be put into operation in 2015.
