During 8 months 23.6 million tons of oil was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. Oil transportation via BTC increased by 1.5 million tons against the same period last year, reads the report of the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee.
According to the same source, from January to August 75.6% of all oil transported via the oil pipelines fell to BTC. During this period 31.2 million tons of oil was transported via the oil pipelines, up 7.7% against the same period in 2013.
During 2013 33 million tons of oil was transported via BTC against 32.9 million tons in 2012.
* Growth of oil transportation via BTC is connected with increase in transit oil pumping from the right coast of the Caspian Sea (Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan oil).
