In the coming two months petrol production will increase by 2 million liters a day and since early year the country imports in average about 4.7 million liters of this fuel a day, Shakhrokh Khosrovani, Deputy General Director of the Iranian National Company for Oil Products Manufacture and Distribution, said.
Khosrovani said that in early year it was planned to import up to 10 million liters of petrol a day, but growth of production at the local oil refineries, management of fuel consumption and creation of sufficient resources of petrol allowed to reduce petrol import by in average 4.7 million liters a day.
Last summer by election of Khasan Roukhani as President of Iran the country manufactured 51.1 million liters of petrol day, during last year it increased up to 60 million liters a day and in early next year it should reach 68.3 million liters.
Owing to implementation of several projects, production of pure petrol up to Euro 4 standard at the Iranian oil refineries increased up to 22 million liters a day and at present such petrol is delivered to such cities as Tehran, Kerej, Arak and partially to Tebriz.
Till the end of the year eight big cities of Iran will be fully supplied with petrol and diesel fuel up to Euro 4 standard, reported www.Iran.ru.
