In the coming three years the gas production must be increased from the current 189 billion to 330 billion cub.m. a year, Deputy Minister of Oil of Iran, General Director of the Iranian National Gas Company Hamid Reza Araki, said.
He said it will be necessary to ensure pumping of about 1 billion cub.m. of gas through the gas distribution network and this is not a simple task.
During this period number of the gas purifying plants must be increased from the current 13 up to 19 and number of the compressor stations on the gas pipelines – from 71 to 90. The total length of the gas pipelines could be increased from 35,000 to 40,000 km, reported Iran.ru. Hamid Reza Araki said that there is no gas company in the world serving the population over 70 million people and the company has been successfully doing that.
Araki also added that in the coming four years the company will need investments of about $62 billion to implement the scheduled programs, reported http://www.ngv.ru.
