Since August 16 noon the operators of the Ukrainian and Slovak gas transportation systems – Ukrtransgas and Eustream – started trial pumping of natural gas via the Voyana-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, reported Naftogas Ukraine company’s press office.
According to the Central Dispatcher Department Ukrtransgas, during the trial deliveries Slovakia will transport 2 million cub.m. of natural gas a day.
“Timely delivery of natural gas by Slovakia is another confirmation of high qualification and professionalism of employees of our enterprises. I would like to thank everybody, who have taken efforts to implement the project. In the future Ukrtransgas will have enough strategic tasks and I am sure that we will be able to carry them into life through joint efforts,” said Igor Prokopiv, chairman of Board of Ukrtransgas.
On April 28, 2014 Ukrtransgas and Eustream signed the memorandum on mutual understanding to ensure reverse gas deliveries from Slovakia to Ukraine.
In 2013 Ukraine imported 2,132 billion cub.m. of natural gas from Europe.
