During 16 years Rosneft plans to increase production by 40%. A quarter will fall to the shelf: if a lot of gas is discovered there, several more LNG plants will be built there. This information was presented at the annual session of the shareholders in Khabarovsk city by Rosneft President Igor Sechin at the end of June 2014.
It has been said at the presentation that the company will increase production of hydrocarbons up to 370-380 million tons. This is almost 40% above year 2013, when the company extracted 240 million tons. Last year 80% of production falls to mature fields and by 2030 their share must decrease to 24%. The biggest project Yuganskneftegas, which is located in XMAO and ensures over one third of the company’s oil production, shows reduction of indexes. However, from 2017 to 2020 Rosneft will introduce new fields into operation – Suzun, Tagul, Lodochnoye and Russkoye. By 2030 they must ensure about 55 million tons of production.
The international projects must bring 20 more million tons: Rosneft has been operating in Venezuela, Vietnam, Brazil, Canada, US, Algeria and Norway (production is not carried out).
At the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg in May 2014 Sechin said the company’s growth will be accelerated till 2033 after beginning of commercial production on shelf. The company owns 46 shelf licenses with the resources over 45 billion tons of oil.
The gas business of Rosneft must grow fast, Sechin told the shareholders. According to our estimates, by 2020 Rosneft will become the second biggest maker of gas and the biggest independent player at the Russian market with the share over 20%, he said.
