From January to April 2014 SOCAR exported almost 1.05 million tons of oil from the Georgian port Supsa, where oil is pumped via the Baku-Supsa pipeline. This is only 10,000 tons more, than during the same period last year.
SOCAR press office reported that in April 2014 242,004 tons of oil was exported from Supsa. The volume of deliveries dropped insignificantly against April 2013.
During last year SOCAR exported from Supsa about 2.73 million tons of oil. The volume of export dropped by 10,000 tons against 2012.
Operator of the Baku-Supsa pipeline is BP. Oil extracted from the Chirag field, which is a part the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) contract bloc, is exported via the pipeline. Through Supsa SOCAR also exports profitable oil of the government (profit from its sale is accumulated at the Oil Fund) and its own share in ACG.
