Full restoration of production on the big field Kashagan in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea should be expected at the end of 2015, said Yves Louis Darricarrere, Total President for Exploration and Production, one of the project shareholders, at the CIS Oil and Gas Summit.
“The main question now is resumption of production as soon as possible. The study of reasons of spills is coming to the end,” said Total representative.
Kazakhstan Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dosayev said in April 2014 that the commercial production on Kashagan will not start in 2014.
The project partners include KazMunaiGas, Eni, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Total and Inpex. Chinese CNPC bought 8.33% share in the project from KMG.
