Socar Turkey LNG company has obtained the license to buy and sell liquefied gas in Turkey.
The official web site of the Turkish Energy Market Regulation Agency reads that the company has also acquired the right to import and export liquefied gas. The license has been issued for the period of 30 years.
At present SOCAR is the biggest investor in Turkey’s economy. SOCAR’s division – SOCAR Turkey Enerji – has been operating in Turkey. Till 2019 SOCAR will invest $17 billion into the projects in Turkey, including construction of the trans-Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP). Among these projects are construction of STAR oil refinery worth $5.3 billion for Petkim company, 1000 MWt power station and the biggest port in Turkey worth $400 million. Kenan Yavuz, SOCAR Turkey Enerji Director, said that by 2018 the company will become one of three biggest companies in Turkey.
