During quarter 1, 2014 gas export from the Shah-Deniz field via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline totaled 1.6 billion cub.m.
According to the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee, gas export from the Shah-Deniz increased by 160% against the same period last year.
A source from BP-Azerbaijan told Caspian Barrel that growth of gas deliveries to Turkey and Georgia contributed to growth of gas export. Since last year the consortium started commercial gas sale at the Georgian market and it has increased this volume since early this year.
Before that Georgia received only 5% of transit gas from pumping of the Shah-Deniz gas to Turkey. The commercial deliveries were added to this volume.
In quarter 1, 2014 Azerbaijan exported 2,398,465,200 cub.m. of gas, up 18.8% against the same period last year.
