Job Title: Operations Supervisor

Job Description

As Workshop Operations Supervisor you will have responsibility for organizing, supporting and supervising a team of mechanical technicians, NDT Technicians and Labourers within the Repair Workshop, while continuing to contribute as a hands-on operative. You will provide technical guidance and implement plans for execution of work in line with schedule as controlled by the Planning Team. You will communicate and liaise with the Planning Team, Vendors and other Team Leaders to ensure continuity of work and efficiency of progress through the workshop.


  • Co-ordinate with Technical Planners to understand current Workshop priorities
  • Arrange allocation of personnel to ongoing jobs
  • Organise personnel within the Workshop and ensure clear definition of tasks
  • Provide technical support to Workshop personnel
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is accurately completed and checked
  • Liaise with appropriate internal resources on technical queries arising during progress of work
  • Identify potential improvements to Workshop processes
  • Lead, Take part and contribute in toolbox talks
  • Lead daily team brief meetings, actively engaging in positive discussions regarding potential problematic areas
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification
  • Support key initiatives such as on time delivery, schedule attainment, cost of quality
  • Support initiatives such as new techniques and products
  • Respond to identified process improvements and implement them willingly
  • Strive to assist with maintaining all relevant KPIs in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Engagement whilst identifying areas for improvement

Essential Qualifications and Experience:     

  • Business qualifications or equivalent subjects    
  • Experience repair workshop environment
  • Knowledge / experience of pressure control equipment repair

Desirable Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Degree mechanical engineering subject
  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry
  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
