Foreign Ministry: Turkey Ready to Facilitate Supply of Turkmen Gas to Europe
Ankara is ready to make efforts to ensure the supply of Turkmen gas to Turkey and transit through Turkish territory to European markets, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu said
“We, as Turkey, are ready to do everything that is entrusted to us to ensure the supply of Turkmen gas to Turkey and its transit through Turkish territory to European markets. This issue was discussed during a bilateral meeting with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashad Meredov. It will also be discussed during a trilateral meeting with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan,” Çavuşoğlu said at a joint press conference with his Turkmen counterpart in Ankara yesterday.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also said that Ankara welcomes the signing of the Azerbaijani-Turkmen memorandum on the development of the Dostlug field in the Caspian Sea.
“We are very happy with the signing of this document between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. For their part, Turkish companies are ready to work in this region and in the Caspian Sea, and I have already stated this to Minister Meredov,” he said.
