Azerbaijan plans to export gas at the level of more than 5 billion cubic meters in 2021, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said
“This year we plan to export Azerbaijani gas to Georgia at the level of about 1 bcm, to Turkey – at least 8 bcm, to Europe – more than 5 bcm,” Shahbazov said Febriary 11, speaking at a meeting of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor project.
According to him, supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey and Europe via the TANAP and TAP gas pipelines will reach their design capacity until 2023.
“The main resource base for the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) is the Shah Deniz field, from which 137 bcm of gas have been produced so far,” the Minister added.
Shahbazov stressed that the launch of the TAP gas pipeline creates new opportunities. “We are completing the first stage of the SGC and are starting the second phase. This includes expanding opportunities for gas supplies to new countries,” said the head of the Ministry of Energy.
