Job Title: Structural Engineer

Work Location: Base Office (30 km away from the city centre)

Position Schedule: 1 year (renewable)

Education: University degree in Mechanical, Naval, Civil, Structural Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of international experience in Structural, Mechanical, Pre-commissioning Engineering within oil and gas Offshore Engineering and Construction industry;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Subsea Design and Structural/Mechanical Engineering Lead on medium-to large-scale and complex offshore projects.

Skills and Competences:

  • Knowledge of main international discipline standards, codes and regulations. Capability to analyse dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions;
  • Knowledge of discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work;
  • Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors. Capability to manage all the interdisciplinary reviews needed to define and optimize the concerned engineering system;
  • Capability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for discipline quantities estimation either on Bid Projects or on Projects in execution, according to Corporate design standards, procedures, methods and tools;
  • Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring the compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements;
  • Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modelling activities;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;

Languages: Azerbaijani (fluent); English (fluent)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Structural Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards. Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow;
  • Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution;
  • Ensure the capitalisation of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies;
  • Planning, co-ordination and control of engineering activities;
  • Control the department programme schedule of projects;
  • Overview the engineering activities and provide technical support to the department whenever necessary;
  • Identify project and contract hot spots and criticalities;
  • Identify project and activity priorities;
  • Optimise technical engineering processes to achieve reduced time and costs;
  • Overview the management of interfaces with other disciplines and with construction/installation activities;
  • Overview requisitioning and technical bid evaluations management of resources;
  • Optimise the usage of external vs internal resources;
  • Advise on Sub-contractors qualifications;
  • Provide support for department budget estimate, control and forecast;
  • Contribute to the definition, implementation and improvement of the quality system;
  • Develop standardisation, define procedures for the department engineering and coordinate the software validation;
  • Implement and control any preventive/corrective actions arising from audits or certification requirements.
