Position: Chemical Services Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 10 years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience in production chemistry
  • Minimum 3 years experience of managing a team
  • Offshore medical and emergency safety certification

Job Profile:

  • Demonstrate safety leadership within a client focussed organisation by promoting and enhancing the safety culture
  • Conduct offshore safety auditing, self verification activities and collaborative leadership reviews with client
  • Lead and motivate a team to achieve business and customer targets within agreed deadlines
  • Provide coaching and development to direct reports on technical and commercial aspects of production chemistry and oilfield chemicals
  • Oversee the formal training and overall competency of direct reports to meet both organisation and client expectations
  • Ensure contract management deliverables are met and support the timely implementation of routine amendments
  • Assist in the preparation of Invitation To Tender (ITT) responses and customer presentations that fully reflect the Company and its capabilities
  • Collaborate in cross-functional projects within organisation, promoting the transfer of knowledge as well as the delivery of innovative processes and programmes
  • Actively manage budget, provide financial forecasting and conduct strategic business planning
  • Ensure that direct reports implement and maintain chemical management systems, good practices and codes of operation to meet the needs of the Customer.
  • Attend & contribute to quarterly Scorecard, Business and KPI Reviews for Customers within the Area
  • Provide cost effective solutions to Customers’ technical problems
  • Identify and communicate new business opportunities to assist marketing and product development plans.
  • Liaise with Technical Group and R&D to ensure appropriate solutions and innovation are offered to the Customer
  • Assist in product supply chain planning, including long range forecasting, inventory planning and assist with receivables follow up
  • Utilise project management skills for delivery of complex solutions involving multi-disciplinary teams

Skills Requirement:

  • Strong leadership and motivation skills
  • Proven safety and ethical leadership in a similar role
  • Account leadership experience that includes calling on multilevel plant or facilities management to accomplish company goals
  • Prior experience that required excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Prior experiences that demonstrates strong ethics, effective time management, ability to multitask, adaptability, autonomy and self-motivation
  • Good negotiation, problem resolution skills and critical thinking
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
